I Love Lissy…..for plus size women who want to stand out in a crowd of 3!

Today I have been thinking about this statement about wanting to stand out in a crowd of 3….My father used to say this a lot to us, his daughters when we were teenagers. He would despair at how we didn’t want to stand out….we really just wanted to blend in with everyone else…

Today it is a different matter and I know dad would love my desire to want to stand out in that crowd of 3!…I have been on a real journey with I Love Lissy, and at times it has been challenging to really come to grips with what I am about and what I am trying to achieve. This week I identified what the real purpose of my brand is, it is for plus size women like me, who want to stand out and not hide away…This in a nutshell is what gets me excited about all my designs….so with each day I push forward.

This past week has been quite a creative one and I have been really excited about some new creations that have been brewing. The cropped jacket with long tail is one I have been thinking about for a while and I whipped up a couple this week. I love the result. The yellow and pink jacket has a real retro feel about it, which is what drew me to the fabric….I love fabric that makes my heart sing….and this certainly does that!..

So there you are, just a couple of my new creations….Think big, act big, and know who you are….then love it!

My EXTRA fabulous Sweatshirt dress….I have been inspired by this word lately and I love all the connotations of it….I figure that I am EXTRA in every way shape and form…and I Love that about me…again it’s just about being yourself, owning all that you are….and all your EXTRA-ness…..so remember to rock out all your EXTRA awesome-ness and have a fantastic week…..

I wanted to share with you all what I have been doing since I last posted a blog….I have been working on new items for my collection of one off, funky, garments…it has been an exciting time as my creative flow unfolds….

This garment is absolutely gorgeous on…the fabric that I choose is usually one off pieces that I find when I go on my treasure hunts. This is an interesting fabric as it was originally a lingerie manufacturer’s corseting fabric. It has some stretch to it, but it’s a firm fabric. I adore this one….

This dress is stunning on…again, I found this beautiful piece of fabric at my favourite fabric shop here in Auckland..Designer Textiles. I have been going there for more than a decade and have a lovely relationship with the owners. I am known as Princess there….lol….

Zebra inspired silk!…daaam this is too cute!….Love this soo soo much! …..

The military inspired jacket looks wicked over this dress….more fabric I have picked up on my travels…these are what make my garments soo special…they are all one off’s and totally unique…

Did someone say FABULISS!….Lordy this is HOT…I feel sooo damn sexy in this….flowers…check…stretch…ahhhh puuurfect!

I love this dress ALOT…the fabric is this really awesome bluey tone with what to me look like feathers…a pretty simple but wow number…..
